Quinoa kesari recipe a tasty healthy sweet you can make.I am fond of sweets and crave for it often so on one such day made this quinoa kesari and enjoyed it myself See you need to treat yourself sometimes at least right?! I did that last week of course shared it with amma too as we both are quinoa lovers at home
I always love to try different quinoa recipes and this one is such a keeper.I did not use any food color for quinoa kesari here just the color of cane sugar was enough to make it appealing isn’t it?! Do try this and let me know how you liked it.
Quinoa kesari recipe
Quinoa kesari recipe using cane sugar, healthy and tasty too.
- 1/2 cup quinoa
- 1 and 1/2 cups water
- 1/3 cup cane sugar
- 5 nos cashews broken
- 3 tsp ghee

Measure quinoa and transfer to a bowl.Add water to it and soak for 20 mins.

Rinse it well and drain water from it,Set aside.Heat ghee in a pan.

Once it melts add cashews and roast until golden, transfer to a separate bowl and set aside.Now add drained quinoa and roast for few mins.

Add water and let it boil.Cook covered until it becomes soft.

Fluff it up, add saffron and cook for 2 mins then add cane sugar.

Cook until sugar melts and is combined well.Add ghee and fried cashews, give a quick mix and switch off.

Serve hot!
- If you like the texture a bit mushy then cook for some more time with 1/4 cup extra water.We like the nutty crunch of quinoa so cooked it this way.
- Add more ghee if you prefer
