Eid al-Adha 2018: From Mutton Biryani to Bhuni Raan, 10 delicious cuisines to gorge on Bakra Eid

Eid Mubarak! Eid al-Adha also called as Bakra Eid, is one of the most widely celebrated festivals in Islam. The day marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage. The day is celebrated with a lavish menu, as families and friends come together to enjoy a feast in each other’s company. As they say, no celebration is complete without food. Talking about the cuisine how can one forget the melt-in-the-mouth seekh kebabs, clay pots brimming with phirni, creamy sheer khurma, quintessential mutton biryani and what not? Mutton Kaleji is a semi-dry preparation of mutton liver loaded with spices and cooked with perfection. The easy to cook dish is enjoyed as an appetiser and is also served with roti. Sheer Khurma

Moong Dal ka Halwa

The drool-worthy dessert is prepared with skinless split green gram, loads of ghee, milk, sugar and dry fruits. Unlike other halwa recipes, ‘Moong dal ka halwa’ takes a little more time (but is worth it) as its consistency should be taken care of. It should be balanced – not too thick, not too flowy. The dish is loaded with lots of protein and calcium.
